Check Settings, Configure K3b, Plugins, K3b External Audio Encoder, Mp3 (Lame) settings, I suggest: lame --preset standard --tt %t --ta %a --tl %m --ty %y --tc %c - %f and check: [x] Write Wave Header so that Lame gets the proper wav input. You can also try the -r switch, but I think that in this way Lame cannot understand the track lenght.
