k3b split iso file

Hi,

I was backing up  video dvds, on attempting to watch one of the iso files
(dragon player, vlc) to confirm it was undamaged I noticed k3b automatically
split the file into x.iso x.iso.001 (I presume as it is greater than 4gb). I
have tried to recombine these files using cat (cat x.iso.001 >> x.iso)
however this did not work, the disc is still not contiguous. Can anyone
advise me of the best way to reconstruct these files? It would hopefully be
quicker than ripping them all again as I have done a number before realising
the error.
