Probably OT - rescue mode for K3B?

Hi All.

This might be OT for this list, but I know there are loads of
knowledgeable people reading...

Is there a way to *force* K3B to read a disk? I've got some faulty CDs,
and I'm trying to rescue the data from them. K3B tells me to insert a
disk, dd, ddrescue, and dd_rescue all simply fail with I/O errors. I've
run out of ideas...

If I can get a dump of the CD, I can run photorec against it - but all my
tools refuse to do anything so far :-(
