K3B for KDE 4 doesn't recognize my dvd writer... It returns: No optical drive found. K3b did not find any optical device in your system. Solution: Make sure HAL daemon is running, it is used by K3b for finding devices. *** Well, hal is running: fraga@tux ~/src/k3b-2.0.2/b$ ps axw|grep hal 1259 pts/1 S+ 0:00 grep hal 3305 ? Ssl 0:00 /usr/local/sbin/hald --daemon=yes 3372 ? S 0:00 hald-runner 3379 ? S 0:00 hald-addon-storage: polling /dev/sr0 (every 2 sec) *** The dvd device is /dev/sr0. So what's the problem? Thanks.
