Date disappearing from database for certain photos in 5.4.2 and 6.2.1 (though not a problem in 4.7.1)

Hello,

Happy user of kphotoalbum for many years - and having a (hopefully) 
minor issue at the moment.

I have a number of photos where dates of photos are suddenly not saved 
in the kphotoalbum database.  That is, the exif date exists in the photo 
and is read properly - and the correct date appears in the annotations - 
but when I hit save, it is saved with no date - and no date is in the 
annotations when I open kphotoalbum again.

In the saved database: startDate=""

Some background:

-I tried creating a new database, using 5.4.2 (on Debian 10) with these 
problematic photos and others - and the same photos had issues: Date ok 
in Annotations - but then blank when saved. Other photos ok.

-Same issue with 6.2.1 on Lubuntu 20.04 (via virtual box)

-This happens with a few files from a few different cameras - but not 
all photos from any camera.

-Noticed it when I moved from 4.7.1 to 5.4.2 - and the dates on these 
files were lost. (had been in DB, but dates removed when saved in 5.4.2)

-Seems strange that dates cannot be saved for certain photos?!? I can 
send sample files - from same camera if it would help.

The following database entries are from fresh reads of the files - test 
DBs with just a few files:

-From 6.2.1: (on Lubuntu 20.04) - Same result w/ 5.4.2 on Debian10

-All ok with 4.7.1: (Debian 8)
