Because you can only paste text as paragraphs. So, there are two ways to pa=
ste=20
text: paste lines as paragraphs or merge them to single paragraph. It is ha=
rd=20
to detect which version would be better - now first way is chosen.

Alas, I found no way to paste text using end-of-lines instead of paragraphs=
 -=20
that would probably be better then current behaviour.
