Actually, this is off-topic, although I'm glad to see the Debian file. 

I'm writing up a review of KnowIt and Tuxcards. I can't quite determine the file
format of KnowIt. Is it straight XML? I seem to recall reading that it was a mix
or blend. My concern, of course, is "how quirky is the file format?"
