This "Generate documents" feature in kdissert takes the treestructure and generates different kind of documents from it. It is like "export to html" in knowit, but allows for much wider range - OpenOffice text or presentation, Latex article or beamer presentation etc. If I want to make a presentation, it is much easier to visually lay out and (re)organize the structure of presentation first in an application like knowit (or kdissert) and then just let it generate the presentation. As I can do it in kdissert too, it would not bring anything new to the linux world, and thus should not be any priority, but if it should be easy to implement, this additional functionality would not do any harm either. The structure of information in kdissert and knowit is very similar, so I would imagine that in perfect world it would just take a wrapper to pass the knowit file to kdissert's "generate documents" part. The real world might be very different :) Ok, as I said, this is by no means sine qua non, just a notice, that you might want to take a peek at it while thinking about additional functionality.
