"kplato.desktop not found" errors

Several people have posted queries for this problem which applies to 
kplato and other modules of koffice.
I uninstalled kplato, removed folder /var/tmp/kdecache-***, then 
reinstalled.  the folder was re-created by reinstall, then a couple of 
additional files generated when I ran kplato.  Thereafter, no more errors.
