It's a little more restricted than that - from the README_BEFORE_HACKING 
file in kdgantt:

This is a mostly verbatim copy of KDGantt, Klarälvdalens Datakonsult
AB's gantt charting engine. We are developing KDGantt at a rapid pace
and will update the version here quite often, so in order to avoid
clashes, we would like to ask you to get in contact with us first
before changing, adding or removing anything here. You can reach us at
[email protected] or [email protected]

So basically what you should do is to discuss all problems with kdgantt on 
kdepim + koffice-devel + one of the above or 
[email protected] (or [email protected]). I will fix the 
compile problem with QT_NO_CAST.
