The version of kdetv I use is the version that came with SUSE 9.2, version 0.8.2 . Dear kdetv Developers, Thanks for this great application! I have been using it for years now and I really like it. For example I really like the sidebar on the left! I don't have a big problem with the program but there a few things that I believe could improve. The reason why I send you an email instead of joining the mailinglist is that I don't have a permanent internet connection at the moment. Beacause I'm not a developer I have know idea how difficult it is to make the changes I propose. Here are some important and less important ideas that I believe could improve kdetv: * After running the Channel Wizard it found most of the channels I was looking for (location: The Netherland). Great! The only thing was that I had to change all the channels manually by + 1.75 mhz. (example: 790.25 --> 792,00). With a previous version of KDETV this was + 0.75. I hope you can resolve this in a future release. * I want to propose a new way of numbering the channels in the sidebar. In such a way that up with the up-key means up in channel and up in the sidebar (read: from the bottom of the screen to the top of the screen). This way everything behaves as expected (up is up, down is down). All the shortcuts should be adjusted to. example: etc. 4 3 2 1 It looks less nice but is more usefull. For the Channel Editor: * Extra column with the frequencies. * Remove "Rename". This option isn't necessary as you can change the name in already two different ways, 'Edit' or a click in on a name in the Channel Name colomn. * Select channel on select as default, remove 'Select Channel' and 'Set Channel on select'. * From top to down: New, Remove, Edit. * The button 'Renumber' wouldn't be necessary if the program did this automatically. Isn't it possible only to "move" the names of the channel? So you have fixed channels numbers? * Is the button 'Kill Duplicates' really necessary? * For the Channel Wizard : make sure that the text on top is aligned to the left side and not centered. Some default settings for the toolbars (The purpose of these settings is to create a default cleaner look and feel.) : * Default setting for the volume toolbar could be at top of the screen between the main toolbar and the view toolbar. Is it possible to give the volume bar a fixed size (See what happens when you move it to an other place!)? * You use the Channel Wizard just one time so this doesn't have to be on the main toolbar. * Let's hope you also don't use the Channel Editor too many times. This also doesn't have to be on the the main toolbar. New name for the Main Toolbar: Channel Toolbar. * Default settings for the volume bar: No up or down button, just the volume bar and the mute button at the right side. * The View Toolbar seems to be a little bit clutterd to, but I don't know what to remove. * No statusbar (You don't use it). Hope you share the some of these ideas. Yours Sincerrely, Jeroen Verhoeckx, The Netherlands __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Read only the mail you want - Yahoo!
