I'm afraid the problem persists with v2.6.12-rc5 and kdetv 0.8.7 (ALSA in the kernel, KDE 3.4, gcc 3.3.5, Gentoo). In the configuration dialog of the ALSA Mixer Plugin I can select "Audigy 1 or 2 [Unknown]", but it doesn't come up with a list of mixer elements. KMix works fine, however. Looking at the kernel changelogs, there have been a lot of changes in the emu10k1 driver (for Creative cards ranging from SBLive to Audigy 2) in rc1 and rc2, notably a new chip detection scheme that also includes the aforementioned new ID string. There have been no further emu10k1 or ALSA changes in rc4 and rc5, however, so if it's a kernel bug, the developers seem to be unaware of it. > Dirk Regards, Eike
