kdetv doesnt see my card!

Hello all, i am having the following problem: i am using gentoo i recently emerged kdetv and have my bt878 chip modular with my 2.6.11 kernel. kdetv doesnt recognize my card even though xawtv and tvtime does and actually work. what could be wrong?? thanx
