Apart from inheriting (that's obviously not a problem), is that the code itself is almost copied from QSortFilterProxyModel and rewritten (with small changes from me for making it more readable, and with the categorizing feature added to it). We can say it is QSortFilterProxyModel a bit changed and with a feature added.
