I think we'd better bring this up on kde-licensing (CC-ed), because a side 
effect of this is what happens with code from someone who didn't contribute 
since ages (Ryan Cumming, Hendrik vom Lehn, Andres Krapf and Richard 
Stellingwerff come to mind).

If CVS annotate shows their username the code is certainly in use. But what if 
it does not? And if someone reindented a file or did something similar how 
can you reliably find out if the original contribution is still there? Do we 
need their approval before relicensing libkopete to LGPL or can we go right 
ahead?
