Replying to myself, I'd like to note that it seems I have been able to over=
come
the problem that bothered me from the other end:

Namely, I fixed the behaviour of KDE frameworks-based apps on X11 by unappl=
ying
a merge request that changed them ("27291 =E2=80=93 [KDE Frameworks 5.74] N=
ew instance
of QWidgets-based KDE apps (only on X11) starts in the last known position =
and
size, overlapping the existing instance").

That put aside I still would like to learn how to change the keyboard layou=
t on
plasma5 + kwin + wayland, because wayland may be preferable in the future a=
nd
because others may benefit from this knoweldge (and it appears to be hard to
find).
