kde customizing issues

Hi,

I just switched to kde (I used fvwm2 previously) and cannot figure out
how to achieve the following things:

1. I'd like to move the windows around on my virtual desktop (which is
    integrated in the Panel) by dragging the small rectangles with the
    mouse. I know that I can move around the windows by using the Desktop
    Preview. But I don't want that, because I don't want to clutter my
    desktop further with the Preview Window.

2. I'd like to add the operation to make a window 'sticky' to the window
    operations menu. A few days ago I found where to configure the window
    operations menu (although I couldn't find that place today) but the
    operation to make a window sticky did not seem to be available in
    that context. This is odd because kde seems to offer a 'make sticky'
    operation (since the windows in my kde desktop already have a pin to
    make windows sticky).

3. I'd like to define a keyboard short cut for making a window sticky
    (since I prefer to use the keyboard instead of using the mouse).
    Again: I could find the place where to define keyboard shortcuts but
    didn't find out how the operation 'make sticky' is accessible (i.e.
    what keyword has to be used to attach that operation to a key
    combination).

4. When making a window sticky (by using the pin symbol in the window
    title bar), the window appears on every tile of my virtual desktop
    (which is visible in the panel). This is very confusing since the
    current position on the desktop and the position of other windows is
    then hardly recognizable any more since it is obscured by the sticky
    window preview. I'd like to alter that kde behaviour (I only want to
    see the sticky window on the current position of the desktop).

I'd appreciate very much any help on the topics above. I'd furthermore
be very grateful if someone could point out how I generally can find out
on my own how these and similar things work. I did read documentation
(many hours) and tried to alter the behaviour of kde by using the
preferences dialogs. But only rarely I achieved what I wanted. I also
tried to find help by searching in newsgroups and mailing list archives.
Rarely with success. Are there other sources of information on
customizing kde?
