Problem Saving Desktop Settings

Hi All,

I am having problem saving my desktop settings on 2 different systems.

System 1 --> KDE3.0 every time I log back in all my settings, wallpapper, theme, Color is all set back to default execpt the icons, although I do save settings before loging out.

System 2--> KDE3.1 The same problem although on this desktop it keeps the wallpapper, icos, theme etc but the bottom toolbar looses all it's icons, all I get is a empty toolbar.

Has anyone got any idea why this is happening?
Have I done something wrong?
