GNOME doesn't put the "File, Edit, View..." pull down menus of each 
window in that top bar. Its just a taskbar #2, i.e., it doesn't save any 
space.

Good; I'm using RH8 with RPM installs, so if an official rpm has those 
features included, I can save some time and patience.
