Thinking again on MacOS, I saw that the console can be transparent to what is directly behind it, not just the background. Probably this is already possible just with the Qt API, and that Konsole is not taking direct use of it; I'm no GUI programmer, so I don't really know. Btw, with menu transparencies on, whenever I slide the "File" menus (or within the KMenu), the previous menu appears faded in the transparent pane behind the current pulled down menu (only with K programs, of course). For example, in Konsole, pull down the "Bookmarks" menu, slide right to the "Windows" menu. Now you should see the faded remains of letters from the "Bookmarks" menu. I turned tansparencies off due to this. The fact that it was a bit slower didn't bother me a bit (PIII-500). This is just my humble opinion of bug correction priorities. Get it right, then get it faster. This has been the evolution of MacOS X. -- Pedro Palhoto Matos ICQ #30047471
