I'm sorry but I think this list is dead... There haven't been posting for = weeks... -- msg. originale -- Oggetto: idea about multimedia keyboards Da: ogott <[email protected]> Data: 04 marzo 2004 1:33:56 hi! i'm new to the mailing list, so please don't get angry if that has already = been discussed. i searched in the archive, but didn't find anything on = this. here's my idea: there are a lot of so-called multimedia keyboards out there nowadays, so = why=20 don't get them supported by kde directely? there actually are relatively = easy=20 ways to get them working under linux and x, i know. but wouldn't it be nice = to integrate such features offered by programs like xbindkeys and = especially=20 xbindkeys-config into the kde control center? the code is already written = in=20 the mentioned packages (both released under the GPL), so it shouldn't be = very=20 hard to do it (unfortunately, i'm an absolute programming newbie). maybe the kmix-team could even make kmix dcop-capable and integrate a = feature=20 that displays the current volume on the desktop. i mean such features that = are available for (for example) logitech keyboards under windows with which = you can increase/decrease volume and while you do so, there's a green = volume=20 bar displayed at the bottom of the screen. afaik this could be possible = with=20 dcop support. i hope you understand what i mean and please correct me if there's anything = wrong in my posting. ogott _______________________________________________ KDE-Look mailing list [email protected] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-look
