Installing a style developed using KDevelop

It has KDE 3.1 and kdevelop 2.1.5-6. I had written a style by subclassing QStyle. The style works perfectly fine when used with Qt applications. No problem with that. Using KDevelop is just made a simple port of the Qt code to suit KDE. (I think). I subclassed from KStyle. Since KStyle is a subclass of QStyle, the code written in Qt should work perfectly well with KStyle as well. I could compile the style successfully, then i went through the normal ./configure, make, make install procedure. Even after doing all that, I am not able to get my theme listed in kcontrol. Please give me some help regarding this. The question basically boils down to this. How to install a style written using KDevelop so that I can use KControl to apply the style to the whole desktop.
