Locking the desktop icons in place

Dear friends:

I've recently changed my wallpaper to the magnificent Saturn image. I've
very pleased with it. The only problem is that every time I log in, the
icons are slightly messed up. That is, the CDRecorder and CD Rom icons =

end up at the end of the alphabetical list. Is there a way to lock these =

icons in place? I didn't have this problem with the default wallpaper.
