Knode - La Brea Tarpit of KDE

I'm running KDE 3.0.5 on Openbsd 3.2.
Knode has become the ghost in my machine.
I started it once, configured an account.
When I attempted to access the new news server,
Knode aborted with a core dump. Now knode
shows up each time I restart kde, but without
the news server on its file menu. How do I
get kde to stop restarting knode?
