Kspread (1.3 / KDE 3.2.3) says 'nothing to print'

I have created a simple 1-page spreadsheet which,
when I try to preview it, comes up blank, and, when
I try to print it,  generates the message 'nothing to print'.

Is this the normal behavior of kspread?

If not, how do I get it to print?
