Crapping Out in FreeBSD 4.5

This response is not authoritative. However, I have 3.0 working just great on
FreeBSD 4.5 and have built it repeatedly from cvs snapshots over the past few
months.

It looks like crypto is enabled in the port build, but it can't find an
external cryptology library. Do you have, say, openssl installed? If not,
consider installing it. Here is a list of ssl packages revealed by a grep of
the distribution discs. It looks like ssl is spread over a couple of
packages. There are some other embedded and modular ssl packages in the list.

d.1:1359:passlogd-0.1d.tgz
d.1:1737:ssldump-0.9b2.tgz
d.1:1738:sslproxy-20000129.tgz
d.1:1739:sslwrap-2.0.6.tgz
d.3:77:apache+mod_ssl-1.3.22+2.8.5_4.tgz
d.3:78:apache+ssl-1.3.12.1.40.tgz
d.3:310:dsssl-docbook-modular-1.73.tgz
d.3:1062:lynx-ssl-2.8.4.1b.tgz
d.3:1742:ruby-openssl-0.1.0.tgz
d.3:2061:webstone-ssl-2.5.tgz
d.4:110:dsssl-docbook-cygnus-1.44.tgz
d.4:111:dsssl-docbook-modular-1.73.tgz
d.4:404:ru-apache+mod_ssl-1.3.22+30.9+2.8.5.tgz

Personally, when the package installation is less than obvious, I prefer to
simply build and install a subsystem like openssl from sources.
