Re: why is Xsun removing /tmp/.ICE-unix

This directory is only removed if it's empty. So the solution is
to create a dummy file:

# touch /.tmp/.ICE-unix/keep_this_dir

Sun support could not explain why this directory is removed by Xsun,
so we have to wait until Xsun is open source :-(
