Query regarding KDE-4.0 login

Hi,

        I am having difficulties in logging into KDE.
        When I try to login, the screen becomes blank for a minute and then
returns back to login screen.
        This is happening both with KDE-3.4.3 and KDE-4.0
        With GNOME, I am able to login without any problem.

        So, I executed startkde from the GNOME login and I am getting the
following errors:

or directory

/opt/kde/bin/startkde: !: not found
startkde: Starting up...
ld.so.1: kde4-config: fatal: libQtCore.so.4: open failed: No such file or
directory
/opt/kde/bin/startkde: qdbus: not found
startkde: Could not start D-Bus. Check your installation.

        So, from this I make out that, I have to install libQtCore.so.4.
        I couldn't find this file anywhere in the web. So, can somebody tell
me where this file can be downloaded from?
        And could there be some more problem other than this?
        Everything was working fine with kde-3.4.3 and suddenly one day it
stopped working. I think KDE desktop got frozen and I did a hard reboot.
        So, any tips on how to get this solved?
