Which is exactly why I think an adaptive strategy might be appropriate. In this case the variable aspect comes from the human in the loop but one should be able to draw analogies to variable transmission delays in remote control algorithms (I know former colleagues did in certain feedback systems back when I worked in driving simulation).

Why not simply export both delays for configuration via the settings dialog? Adaptive enough as a strategy without being so officially :)
