Gmail dimap woes

Hi,

On one of my larger folders using Gmail with disconnected IMAP updating it 
results in the sequence described at <http://groups.google.com/group/Gmail-Help-
POP-and-IMAP-
en/browse_frm/thread/5bcd2d924ec14984/eba4c65a50b18852#eba4c65a50b18852>. Is 
this how KMail updates over IMAP or is it Gmail not playing nice with the IMAP 
standard?
