Evolution Mail and Calendar Filter

I am trying to get the filter to work within the calendar.  I have
switched on filters and created a filter view that has less items than
the unfiltered calendar.  When I click to use the filter and refresh the
calendar, nothing happens.  Is this just for printing or will it change
the screen view?
