I found these:
http___www.slate.com_rss_feed.aspx?id=2126999.mk4  
http___www.slate.com_rss.mk4
http___www.slate.com_rss_feed.aspx?id=3491.mk4

removed them.

that did it! I was able to add new feeds for slate, slates todays papers, and 
gardening!
Why would those archive files stop it?
