Yes again, took me a bit to figure out what settings I wanted, I thought 
picking 'classic' would set it back to the way it was in my last version.

Ok, I did go into Personal Settings, Advanced, File associations, Searched on 
.pps. Under application I have 3 that use *.pps
 vnd.ms-powerpoint.slideshow.macroEnabled.12
 vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.presentationml.slideshow
 vnd.ms-powerpoint

These all point to OpenOffice.org Impress.

I believe it is pointing correctly because if I pick from the list when I try 
to open the file, it does open that time.
