Searching our bug database I found https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73423 This bug has 0 votes and comments from exactly one user. Also I cannot remember when a user last sent a message to one of the relevant mailing lists because he had problems with the timeout (and, usually, I have a good memory, mind you). So, there's no indication that this problem is even remotely common. Moreover, you can change the timeout.
