How do I > confine the activities of kmail to the ~/mail area? take a look at the [General] section in your ~/.kde/share/config/kmailrc file. the relevant entry is 'folders' - mine is folders[$e]=$HOME/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail you can adapt this to your needs (do that when kmail is not running :) werner
