KMail becomes slow after search

After searching for mails, KMail (at least my) becomes very slow. I 
want to debug the problem, but I do not know how I can do that.
After deleting the last search in /home/~/.kde/share/apps/kmail KMail 
starts working in the usual way again.
Does anyone else have an expierience like that?
