As you can see above, clicking on the "use custom templates" box so its 
checked, seems to have restored that, so now its back to the default settings 
regarding greetings that it used before I switched the dictionaries.

Go figure Anne, but it seems strangely like a bug to me when changing the 
default dictionary erases all the other settings including the .sig lines, 
which for me are a file regenerated every 5 minutes by a cron job so the 
fortune changes.
