knode excessive indentation

Sometimes threads go on just too long.  Indentation becomes excessive, and 
navigation visual aids become invisible.

Specifically, there are green arrows indicating where unread articles are, 
and the little '+' signs that can collapse/expand.  These become invisible 
when threads become too indented.

I'm not sure what's the best way to solve this, but wish there was a 
solution.
