My other problem (as yet unmentioned) is that kmail seems to be very slow when accessing my (numerous) mail folders. I see from the FAQ that a solution is proposed there, so I'll try that before requesting help. I don't follow all the developments, as kmail has been working so well in the past. Coming effectively new to it the only FAQ I found only had one question relating to importing mail folders. The FAQ you pointed out is much better! Many thanks again.
