Would composing in html prevent the wrapping?  Does webkit use a different 
editor.

(One nice feature of evolution is that you can compose in html and send in 
plain text.  This preserves things like lists and indents, even though the 
html is removed before sending. Another thing it does is allow URLs to be 
formatted as 'preformatted' so even when sent in plain text, there is no word 
wrap.)
