Is this directory associated with Kaddressbook?

I just found a bunch of vcard files is the ~/.local/share/contacts
directory. Is this directory associated with Kaddressbook or is this
related to some long-forgotten experiment with some long-forgotten
application? Can someone reassure me that
~/.kde/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf is still the up-to-date Kaddressbook
file as of KDE 4.3.4? I know that KDE SC 4.4 will be using Akonadi
instead. Thanks.
