"parentfolder.newfolder" sounds like maildir++. All KMail (and also > Thunderbird) does is tell the IMAP server to create a folder "newfolder" > below the folder "parentfolder". Well, that is weird to me as I didn't! No joke, I did again: Thunderbird 3.0; KMail 1.12.1 Using KDE 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1); dovecot-1.2.6; So: 1) create folder TOP with KMail, then create a subfolder sub, which results in: "TOP" and "TOP.sub" (both prepared as maildirs with cur, new, tmp and maildirfolder file); 2) create folder "TOP2" on the same fs level with Thunderbird, then create a subfolder "sub2" into it, which results in: "TOP2" prepared and containing "sub2" also prepared (prepared just like with KMail). So... Its reality! > > And is not accessible w/o > > KMail restart (or two restarts maybe) just like any other folder > > created from shell on server takes a KMail restart for it to see a > > change, "Refresh Folder List" doesn't help! > > Weird. I correct here: actually it seems like that was a problem because of those 1000+ folders and now it seems like it takes a mailcheck action for KMail to find a new folder (unless its parrent has utf8 chars in it). > Regards, > Ingo Well, thanks for attention! I'm building a longterm mail solution, which stores all mail into YEAR/MONTH/ folders and sorts it further there by using maildrop... These folder creation and utf8 problems are the worst right now, also in time archive will grow again... _______________________________________________ KDE PIM users mailing list [email protected] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-users
