I cannot find an open bug, other than one that I filed some time ago
(see below). When is this expected? I can give up this feature short
term, but I will need the old categories to be updated into tags at
some point (don't loose that data!).

Here is my bug, can you please reopen it and comment that the new
Kaddressbook is missing categories? Thanks!

That is a workaround. Is the data regarding which type of name saved
somewhere? In my nation some names could be ambiguous as either given
or family names, so this is important.

That is not really a big deal for widescreen users like myself. If I
see that it interferes with some 4:3-aspect ratio screen users, then I
will file an issue. Thanks.
