Or the list of IDs which is stored > in a file in ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/ was lost. well, the problem happened for a duration of two days after-which I manually deleted the old messages from the server. after that it didn't happen again. so I have no way of checking that unlit it will happen again perhaps I can compare the ID's of the deleted messages to their identical older messages... should do that just for curiosity. thanks, YB.
