I guess I will open all messages in my inbox at once and then delete them from 
the opened windows one by one. That could be a solution. Thanks for the hint.

No I haven't. That's what I meant, when I said, that neither the users thought 
of that. Obviously I'm the only one around to find it important. I have never 
filed a bug report nor a feature request, but maybe I should do that. There is 
probably some help out there on how to do that.

I really didn't expect that feature to be implemented in the current version of 
Kmail.
