Kmail -> kmail2 upgrade screwed me up; how to get a clean config?

Hi,
  after my upgrade from kmail to kmail2 went wrong (I have 10k duplicates
of my new messages, since the update), I was wondering how I could clean
the state of kmail2, drop all the message accounts, etc. to start from scratch.

The obvious mv ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail2{,.old} didn't do the trick.
