I just upgraded from Kubuntu 11.04 to 11.10, using the KPackageKit desktop notification and "start upgrade now". Subsequently when I opened Kaddressbook its contacts list was empty. As a test, in 11.10 I imported an old vcf card file into Kaddressbook, and on that basis I believe the Kaddressbook contacts are now stored as individual vcf cards in ~/.local/share/contacts. Is that correct? I have a recent full backup (including all dot directories), done prior to upgrading from 11.04 to 11.10, and the directory "myusername"/.local/share/contacts does not exist in the backup. The file "myusername"/.kde/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf exists, but is empty, and I cannot find my contacts or vcards anywhere else in the backup. This is significant to me since I added many contacts subsequent to the old vcf card file I imported into Kaddressbook 11.10. Can someone tell me where my addressbook and/or vcf cards would have been in 11.04, and thus in my backup prior to upgrading .... or if they would have been saved anywhere during the 11.10 upgrade process ... or if there is any way to recover my addressbook and/or vcf cards from my recent 11.04 backup???? (Not sure this is related, but, while I normally use thunderbird not kmail, when I do try to start kmail as a test, I get a fatal message "failed to fetch the resource collection") Thankyou, Gus _______________________________________________ KDE PIM users mailing list Subscription management: https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-users
