So some followups to this:

Another issue is the folder settings for trash (imap configuration), sent, 
template and draft (identity setting). These got mixed as well if you start 
with a no longer existing akonadi DB.

Afaik the expiration settings are moved over to akonadi (Lautent Montel). For
