It works.

But I still use KDEPIM 4.4.5 its only used for contacts and some calendars 
I configured via Akonadi.

I did not take the time to benchmark it. The current data set would be to 
small for meaningful benchmarks anyway, I bet.

I am not sure whether PostgreSQL would be faster than MySQL, but I bet it 
might be more stable giving the crashed InnoDB table issue that was 
mentioned here which at least needs some additional configuration.

Also I prefer PostgreSQL currently, since I do not like how Oracle handles 
MySQL.
