Hi,

after some digging I found the problem. In case someone else is having the 
same problem, here is the solution.

The problem was, that the remoteid in the akonadi database was wrong.
Apparently this is different for different IMAP servers.
In my case the remoteid was e.g. ".INBOX" but the server wantend "/INBOX"
I'm not sure if this was due to a faulty akonadi upgrade if there was a change 
on the server side my provider didn't tell me about.

The solution was to change the remoteid as described in this bugreport:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=275418
(but I changed it from . to / not the other way round)

Why I still could access top level folders like INBOX and Trash but not 
subfolders I don't know ...
